Long Branch Loop Mural

Since the beginning of my term, many residents have reached out to my office to advocate for the restoration of the Long Branch Mural.

Originally commissioned in 1996, the 6,000-square-foot mural at the Lont Branch Loop is an important local landmark, celebrating the history and character of the Long Branch neighbourhood. As the years have passed, however, the mural has begun to fade and is ready for a new chapter.

Thanks to the strong advocacy of local residents, especially the Long Branch History and Cultural Committee, the City is moving forward with plans to revitalize the mural.

We are excited to share that the StreetARToronto (StART) team within Transportation Services has adopted the mural as a City-led project, with funding secured through FIFA Legacy Funds to support its revitalization.

Community consultation is expected to begin this fall, giving residents an opportunity to share their ideas and help shape the future of this landmark.

We look forward to working together to ensure the renewed mural continues to reflect the spirit, history, and pride of our community for years to come.
